What Is The Difference Between Type 1 Diabetes And Type 2 Diabetes?

Diabetes is a chronic disease diagnosed by many diabetes specialists in Delhi. In this disease, the basic blood sugar glucose regulation gets hampered. Normally, the food that we ingest gets metabolized into glucose and incorporated in the blood. This glucose is supplied to distinct parts of the bodyand serves to fuel the cellular functioning. But the cells need insulin for the steady uptake of glucose.

There are distinct ways in which the uptake of insulin gets destroyed. This condition commonly leads to diabetes. There are distinct ways in which the disease can occur. On the basis of distinct ways, diabetes can be of two types. In this blog, the basic difference between the two types of diabetes will be dealt in details.

Symptoms

Although type 1 and type 2 forms of diabetes have similar manifestations, the patterns and the onset of disease are quite different. The symptoms of type II diabetes develops later. There are no or minimal symptoms in the initial phases.  The symptoms are progressive and may develop gradually over time. Some of the people may not experience the symptoms at all. These symptoms are diagnosed by many diabetes specialists in Noida.

In contrast, diabetes type 1 symptoms develop faster. The symptoms may also be noticed at a young age. This is why diabetes of type 1 may be synonymously called juvenile diabetes. The patient may experience weight loss and mood changes.

Causes

Diabetes type 1 is an autoimmune disease where the immune cells attack the beta cells of the pancreas that are responsible to produce insulin. The level of insulin drops down. This lowers the uptake of glucose from the blood causing the rise of the blood glucose level.
Diabetes type 2 is developed due to the resistance to insulin. The body produces a normal level of insulin but they are not able to utilize them. This is because the receptors of the cells that are responsible for the attachment of insulin get destroyed. Thus, the glucose gets accumulated in the blood stream.

Diagnosis

Both types of diabetes are diagnosed through the Glucose Tolerance Test and the long-term control is assessed by the glycosylated HbA1C test. It is done by the various diabetes specialists in Noida.

Treatment

Diabetes type 2 can be reversed by controlling the diet and doing regular exercise.  Some people may require some medication along with the lifestyle changes to get better results. With proper monitoring of the sugar level in the blood, the disease can be managed.
The treatment of type 1 diabetes is uncertain. Since the biosynthesis of insulin gets depleted, insulin is injected from outside the body through the soft tissue. Blood sugar level is steadily tested to manage type 1 diabetes. This is done by diabetes specialists in Delhi.
Thus, by now one must have understood the basic difference between the two forms of diabetes.
